Project Summary

In the summer of 2014, we launched STEAM Design Studio, an online course for pre-college students interested in learning more about interdisciplinary design.

STEAM is an acronym emphasizing the importance of art (the “A”) in STEM fields. So, STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, and this course was intended for students interested in design and how these seemingly different fields can work together to solve problems and create meaningful, interdisciplinary projects.

This video, in particular, was created to set up a project that students would be doing within the course.
